If a pharmaceutical company has updated a Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) or Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) on the emc, they will provide information explaining what has changed.
This information is shown on the document history/change page - this can be accessed via the "View Changes" link on the left of the product page.
To access this information you will be required to have registered and be logged in to an emc account.
From the Latest Updates page, you will see a list of recent changes to product sections. To view the full changes, click the "Changes History" link on the right of each product entry.

For SmPCs, you can see which sections have changed and a detailed description of the change, provided by the pharmaceutical company
For PILs, you can just see which sections have changed
